Holiday Season 2012 in Delaware, Ohio

This holiday season is different and the same in so many ways. For me, it will be the first one without my Dad, two cousins, and a great aunt who have all gone on to their rewards for lives well lived.
Changes are one of the constants we all can count on, especially since this thanksgiving will be a vey different one for my Step Mom as my Dad, her husband of nearly 40 years will not be there for the first time. Most of my siblings will be somewhere else too this year, as we all deal with this change in our family tree in our own way.
Main Street Delaware under the diligent leadership of Frances J Hamilton has finally retrained our local population that yes there is indeed a thriving downtown business district, and every First Friday for the past few years have gotten bigger and better than the last. One week from Friday will be the annual Christmas Tree lighting in our downtown on the corner of So. Sandusky and W. William Streets. There will be carolers, Kettle Corn, special treats for the kids, Santa’s house, and of course the lighting of the tree. Yesterday was our christmas parade complete with a new children’s book author and his tour bus, and of course Santa ushering in the Christmas Season.
Beginning Friday here’s hoping that our 2012 Holiday shopping season will be one of the best ever for our downtown business district.

Happy Thanksgiving

Merry Christmas

Happy New Year
